For Groups

We work in partnership with a number of NHS teams, including Langdon Hospital, the Community Forensic Team and Teignbridge Community Mental Health team. We also work with the Royal Marines and Royal Navy team based at Hasler Rehabilitation Unit in Devonport. To start with, team members visit the farm to get to know us, meet the horses, view the facilities and see how we work. If we are running a session, sometimes team members can join the reflection with participants at the end. We also discuss any specific needs for people the teams will refer for our groups. We work in small groups of up to six people. We have a team of three facilitators on each course which means people will spend one-to-one-time with the horses as well as being part of a group circle. Team members and support workers are included as part of the session. We develop long-standing relationships with our partners and have worked with the Occupational Therapy team at Langdon Hospital since 2018. Most teams commission our work and pay a fee which is subsidised by our grant funding. Last year, 2022, we were supported by Awards for All Lottery Funding and local charities. We are open to developing new relationships which are a good fit for our ethos and funding. For individuals

People who wish to join our courses may refer themselves. We work in partnership with Devon Recovery Learning Community and design recovery retreats for small groups of people. These retreats run through the spring, summer and autumn months. In the winter, we offer shorter sessions at the farm. We also offer an online course through Devon Recovery Learning Community. Bookings are made through the Devon Recovery Learning Community website or telephone DRLC. Link here: https://devonrlc.co.uk/ enquiries about dates of our Recovery Retreats can also be made by email to horsemanshipforhealth@gmail.com.

We get many requests for one-to-one sessions, including sessions for individual children. Due to demand for our courses, we are unable to offer sessions one-to-one for children or adults.
